She is a voracious reader and passionate about writing.
Her popular journal series showcasing her artistic talent for gorgeous drawings with titles like Missing You, Loving you and Saying Goodbye have struck a chord with her readers. Missing You, Loving You, Saying Goodbye and journals with similar sentiments are personal journals to write in your own words how you feel, simply to write feelings otherwise unexpressed or use as an everyday journal. Some of the journal pages are lined for notes. The journals with sentiments have one sentence per some of the lined journal pages.
These journals by Kay Duncan are designed to help articulate feelings that are sometimes hard to identify or explain with words. Designed for readers to read the journal sentence on each page and then journal those feelings in their own words on the lines below. Other journals are personal everyday 200 page lined journals with no sentimental sentences just empty lined pages with her personal distinctive beautiful artwork on the covers usually depicting wildlife, such as as a octopus, an eagle, a tiger, a bumblebee, etc. When she teaches How to Journal and reads from her one of her similar sentimental works such as Missing You, it is not uncommon for those in the audience to approach her after the class to say how much her work feels familiar, has helped them to express pent up feelings and get a tremendous break through in their journal writing and their emotions.
