A fabled lost Gold Mine makes men forget their sanity and wander out into the desert in search of riches, but one of them discovers the truth behind a map that doesn't have anything to do with Gold. More
No. 3 is the third (short) story in a six part collection.
In search of a lost gold mine, men wander out into the desert in hopes of striking it rich, but one of them discover that the maps that lead to a lost gold mine aren't exactly what they appear to be, and realizes that a wicked woman is the reason why men never return from their journeys out into the desert.
The ongoing theme of New American Western continues with the usual, drinking, dancing, fighting and that one woman that seems to be in the middle of it all, so don't think these stories make women out to be damsels in distress. The old west had its share of women that were as bad as some of the men with the worst reputations.
The subtle insinuation of the bad female characters in The New American Western is that women are smarter than men.

An interesting ride through the eyes of a wicked woman. This author has given the woman the upper hand in his stories. The story line is subtle, but then you realize what's actually going on and who the villain really is. I'm intrigued by this series called New American Western.
