Fantastic stuff; great book. So looking forward to the rest of this series. Your character development is superb; Alex and her girlfriends so real and interesting, and you write violence so well, nothing vanilla about it. I had a tension knot in my chest from Alex’s kidnapping and by the end that tension lump had filled my throat. Man, you’re tough.

If Suzanne Brockmann (Troubleshooters), Janet Evanovich (Stephanie Plum), Susan Mallery & Maya Banks made a baby that baby would be named Summer Ellis & the grandbaby would be Under Construction The Cartel Series.

Hilarious, cute, sweet, sexy as hell, hot, suspenseful, hot men, gun fight, murder, sex, tattoos, rough sex, girl on girl implied, and Dogs.

Bob & Penelope Barker make the book.

Review by: Leroy Jones on June 29, 2011 :
Summer has made a fantastic and believable storyline in this story. I started reading and straight from the prologue was hooked. Any book that starts in such a dramatic way has to hold your attention. The interaction between the characters is good and believable and your sympathy for the main character holds throughout the story begging the will she won’t she question until you eventually find the answer.

The erotic scenes are done in an excellent fashion (as always, see Summers free shorts for more of this lady’s excellent work in this department), and in no way detract from the story as they can do at times. This book is highly recommended and the twists turns and intricacies of the story bode well for the sequel. I am looking forward to it with much anticipation.

Under Construction is wonderful first effort by Summer Ellis. Her main character, Alex was fully developed, and I quickly became emotionally connected to her as I read the story. At times I laughed at the absurd antics of Alex and her best friends, while other times, I was horrified, and just a little disturbed at the honesty and reality depicted in some supporting character's actions. I can see Alex developing fully into her continuing role when Summer Ellis comes out with more stories within this series. I will be patiently waiting and anticipating future efforts in this series and other works by Summer Ellis.

The strong story helped me glide past the very few technical and grammatical errors. Overall, a great first effort well-worth the money and time. a great read! Five Stars for story content and development; rich characters and exciting action.
