First time as well reading an Egypt writer and I really enjoyed this book. Even learnt a few things about life, especially in the first few chapters...things like how frigile is and how we find ourselves in circumstances we didn't even plan for or anticipated. It a good read, well done! although they happened to appear to many flash backs..but I guess that's just a matter of the reader to understand....

What attracted me to reading it at first was the name, and the fact that it was from Egypt, as i went there once a couple of years ago and was interested to read a novel from that country, and the video promotion was attractive enough for me to give it a try..
As the author said, the main plot was how the lives of some strangers that end up in a cafe can interlink together.. at first i was was giving it three stars due to the many coincidences happening through the whole novel that i thought were weird, but the ending came to change everything and make it deserve the fourth star.. the tale itself was well written and featured a new modern version of Egypt, not well known to many in the western world.. Cairo seemed like any other modern Capital, the thing that made me couldn't help but imagine the novel happening here in Paris where i live, specially that Edith Piaf's songs were playing during the entire novel.. highly recommended if u want to read a realistic featuring of modern Egypt .

First time i read to an Egyptian writer, and obviously Mr Mohamed wont make it my last :)
Bianca is the name of a vintage styled cafe, located in Cairo the Egyptian capital, and inside this cafe that is considered the real main character the author takes us into the stories of many customers that enter, some by chance and some intending to pass sometime but end up unable to walk out of the place..
loved the part when he viewed how the people in the novel see each other and how it's almost every time wrong and has nothing to do with the real person, and loved also the intersection points between each tale and the next one, specially that they weren't obvious all the time, and also when he explained at the end of the tale why the stories intersect from the first place ( the thing that almost drove me crazy and made me uncomfortable the whole time i must say :D
Hope to read other novels for the same author, and I strongly recommend it for people who want to spend some good time with a good novel :)

like the description said, it is happening in modern Egypt and the whole tale takes place inside the cafe (Bianca), except for several flashbacks in each chapter..
i liked that each character told a chapter, and I enjoyed the details said in each story, the combination of the characters and the cuts at the end of chapters and the simple writing style was nice, though English isn't the authors first language which was obvious at some points, but it didn't bother me much..the tale itself was enjoyable, the end was a little weird and shocking i have to say and can't decide whether i liked it or not, but as a total i have to say that i spent nice time with it ..
well done mr Mohamed
