Stephen Mayall is marketing consultant, coach and founder of New Edge Marketing. Where he helps creatives, designers and freelancers generate more leads, create more opportunities and win more clients. A marketer by day and writer by night, he is loathe to talk about himself in the third person, but can be persuaded to do so on occasion.
But perhaps the first thing you should know about him, is he wasn’t always destined for a career in marketing. In fact, he graduated in design and spent the first ten years of his career working for creative agencies in London and Sydney. He did the usual things, and for the most part loved the work and the agencies he worked for.
Eventually he moved into client services and had some responsibility for sales and marketing. It was there he began to see first hand how hard it is for a creative business to produce consistent results from their current business model.
Stephen spent the next 9 years obsessively, reading, researching, studying and testing. He took the best of what he learnt tweeted it and put his own spin on it. Then one day, while helping a friend implement these steps into his small branding agency, he realised something: the exact client development framework he developed could benefit other creative business owners… And he decided to share it for the first time ever.
