Review by: Wendy Scott on June 24, 2011 :
Another great story from Joyce.

Joyce uses 1st, 3rd and third person omniscient (Point Of View) to move the story forward by increasing tension; the technique allows the readers to know more than the characters. Even the old Victorian mansion becomes a player as the story unfolds, lending a ghostly venue for this mystery thriller.

Nice use of contrast; POV, the anonymity of the stalker (we suspect from the beginning he isn't Peter Carter, as he claims) against Victoria's need for recognition; Victoria's independence, Shane's regrets, the stalker's need for dependence, old and new, for example. All these contrasts help build depth and suspense as the story unfolds.

I won't give away the plot, but I will tell you this is an enjoyable glimpse into Victoria Garraway's world of real estate, a golden past, a modern thriller and love denied.
