Review by: Aileen Morgan on June 30, 2011 :
"Traveling along," "Mother," and "Abandoned Money" are intimate slice-of-life tales captured with deceptively simple writing. The author's eye for detail conveys the emotional profoundness of day-to-day events that become turning points for individuals at odds with or isolated from society. Each story portrays aspects that are very much Japanese and of their time period, but the emotions are universal.
