Eleanor Rowe was born in Poland, the daughter of a Lithuanian Princess and an Austrian diplomat. After horrendous experience in Europe during World Waar II, she and her family came to New York City in 1947.
Having learned English from comic books, Eleanor earned an M.A. in English Literature at Marquette University, taught at various colleges, and received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from N.Y.U. After deveoping an unusual technique using acrylic resins, she became a partner in a Florida art gallery.
Eleanor's publications include Hamlet: A Window on Russia (N.Y.U Press) and Waiting Games: How to Get Rich, Powerful, Sexy & Healthy While You're Killing Time (Facts on File). She now lives with her husband in Sedona, Arizona and Gaithersburg, Maryland. They have two sons and a neurotic dachshund named Princess Ozma.
Jack Zeigler has had well over a thousand drawings published in The New Yorker Magazine since 1974 and has published eight collections of his cartoons, the most recent of which are "How's the Squid?", "Olive or Twist?" and "You Had Me at Bow Wow". There's also a children's book, "Mr. Knocky", out there somewher, plus a biographical compilation, "The Essential Jack Ziegler", written by his former editor at The New Yorker, Lee Lorenz. He and his wife reside in The United States of America.
