Mop Jockeys and Fighter Pilots

Rated 5.00/5 based on 3 reviews
Captain Carme Batista doesn't have time for anything other than fighting the next battle. But Felix isn't an ordinary janitor. He remembers things no one else does, unobtrusively attentive, seeming to sense what she needs before even she knows it.

He doesn't seem to understand she has no emotion left. The war with the Chion destroyed them a long time ago...

About J.A. Marlow

It's said I was launched into space from birth and I haven't been back to Earth since.

There might be some truth in that.

As a reader I love science fiction with great plots, interesting characters, exotic locales, all accompanied by a sense of wonder with optimistic endings. As a writer, I love the same.

I also thought this was a truly well written, lovely and high caliber story. My only regret in reading it is that it ends so soon!

If you want a story which will leave you with warm fuzzies I HIGHLY recommend this one.

From the opening line to the hair raising grande finale which left me on the edge of my seat this story led me on an emotional roller coaster that still left me grinning and dude it didn't take long to read at all. Well worth it. If I say anymore I will give it away.

A well written story that took me into the war that Captain Batista fought in her small space craft. I felt her worry and dispair at losing more of her wingmen after each attack.
And, yes, I cried at the end, because there is hope even in the dispair of war.

Read this story to help out J.A and gosh was I blown away. I had heard her giggling about her mop jockey for the few days she was racing through the first draft and honestly, I thought she was finally cracking. ;) But when I read it, like I said as a favor to her, I read it in like 15 minutes and was crying by the end of the story. It wasn't sad -- at least not mostly -- but I was crying because it was truly beautiful. A work of art.

This short is a MUST. You won't regret the $.99 you must pay to own it. In my opinion it should be more but $.99 is still an amazing price for this amazing story. And believe me, if you love this short you'll NEED (no not want, need) to buy all her other works and every one she puts out from now on.
