Mr. McKee was the youngest of five children born in August of 1941. His parents, four sisters, aunt, and grandmothers formed the family nucleus during his formative years. He attended elementary schools in Alexandria, Virginia and then on to High school in Annandale and finally Springfield in the class of 1961.
He joined the U. S. Coast Guard and served for seven years. He attended the electronics engineering school using the R.C.A. Institute (New York City) as well as specialty schooling. Travel to a number of pacific islands was a part of his tour of duty.
He worked as a design engineer in electron ballistics systems, high vacuum, and imaging technology for the U.S. Army Night Vision Laboratory for the next several years. Several State-of-the-art accomplishments and designs (restricted by security from patent applications) were the fruits of this time.
Moving on to an imaging company utilizing penetrating radiation for medical and industrial applications led him to travel in sales and technical support for their product line. He opened the West Coast office for the firm in 1972 and continued to expand product application into the diagnostic medical x-ray and industrial nondestructive testing and analysis using x-ray and neutron imaging.
Mr. McKee finally found his way into the realm of three-dimensional imaging systems for commercial and entertainment applications. He retired from Stereographics Corporation in 2003.
Mr. McKee holds a number of patents, mostly in the optical and electro-optical areas of usage. His interest in all things science keeps him active and continually searching for progress in the area of theoretical as well as astrophysics.
