The Church of Cecilia

Rated 3.50/5 based on 2 reviews
A love story about a girl named Cleopatra, a boy named Neon, and their painful creep-show experiences on Dream Plane, Earth Plane, and an electric underwater world. Lots of blood.

An experimental kind of story with some cool dream-imagery, but the entire thing read like one long dream with little in the way of actual narrative. Not really my thing. The story did an end, but it was rather difficult to care about.

Part sci-fi fantasy love story, part surreal prose-poetry nightmare, this story had me hooked from the start. I had no idea where it was going until it got there (something I absolutely love in a story). The images are fantastic, disturbing, and beautiful all at once. I hope this author uploads more of her work (but not before I read this one a few more times). If music was a painting, and painting was a dance, and dance was a story: "The Church of Cecilia" would be it.
