About the Series: The Yusan Chronicles
The future is a primitive place. Three hundred years from now, the kingdom of Yusay stands solidly amid the broken bones of our broken world. Horses ply the roads, the best weapons are broadswords and bows, and the Ancients are feared and despised.

Patrick Bell hails from a secret colony that remembers the Ancients. Bred as a soldier and born in a colony of intellectuals, the death of his family leaves Patrick belonging nowhere. He follows the trail of his ancestor to the kingdom of Yusay, only to find his ancestor is not merely remembered, he is worshiped.

Patrick wins the powerful post of Master of Guards, but he is far from safe. His mysterious past and his claim to be the descendant of the Yusan prophet make him the target of suspicion and envy. Now he must navigate a new society, where political and personal enemies abound.

If you like multiple evolving characters, science-based stories, and losing yourself in a primitive new society, you’ll love Elaine Jemmett’s, The Yusan Chronicles series.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and the plot kept me turning the pages. I didn't want to put it down and look forward to the next book.
