Love the idea of any guy taming what appears to be a shrew--in this case, his cousin Cherry--and Sam plays her masterfully.
Kind of novel to me to set up this book with Sam using sports and his brain to escape Podunkville, MS, although I don't think a reader will suspect his passively-calculating nature until Cherry shows up, after Wendy's warning about her.
To see how Sam "tames" Cherry is quite satisfying although the author employs some misdirection to not make this such an obvious conclusion. When it does happen though, he does tame her for himself.
Question becomes though will we see a sequel to this? I'd love to see one with how open-ended this is, although the one thing I object to is to Cherry "blue-balling" other guys in a new place even if it means her satisfying herself with Sam only. If there were a sequel, I'd love to see Sam tame her more to where eventually she doesn't tease other guys, simply because it just doesn't seem "right" or "respectful" of the fact now she does have another guy and doesn't need to torture others to get what she wants--because she has what she really wants.
Very solid and entertaining read and I recommend. I'd love to see follow-ups to this.
