It was so good!

I love Pride and Prejudice sequel based on Mary so when I discovered that book, I said to myself, why not? And I love it!

It is not perfect. Some missing words for example and not enough romance to my taste. But it is well-written, has tons of humour and supernatural in it.

I wasn't disappointed with this book and I can wait for more adventures!

Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books and I have always been interested in what came after...not in regards to Elizabeth and Darcy, or even Jane and Bingley, and definitely not Lydia and Wickham. I have always wondered about Mary and Kitty and being left alone in that house with Mrs. Bennet, her nerves, and her scheming!!

Then to combine that with the supernatural, vampires, and hunters!? YES PLEASE.

When most people think of Mary Bennet they think of a shy, bookish, musical girl who tended to fade into the background as her sisters took center stage either through their flirtations, kindness, or sass. But anyone can be anything under the right circumstances, and trying to save one sister allows another sister to change her fate.

In this book we see Mary's future change from that of a quiet wife of a small village clerk, to a strong willed, passionate fighter who speaks her mind and protects those she loves. There are times, like during Mary's training, where the rules of the time period have to take a back seat to the necessity of learning to defend oneself against a creature of the dark - WOMEN IN PANTS!!! OH THE HORROR!! Seeing Mary grow through her diary entries, hers actions, and her relationships though was so satisfying! And watching the cocky, rude, and incorrigable Benjamin Gordon try to understand Mary and himself in relation to her was infuriating and hilarious.

Basically I adored it, and definitely see myself reading it again. I only wish it was a bit longer because I am selfish. I hope to see this grow into a series so that I can read more about Mary and Benjamin's adventures 'saving people, hunting things'.
