A poem about the flower that follows the cues of the moon, but hints at the moon's pull and romantic influence over us all. More
While working at a retirement home, I was introduced to what a Moon Flower is by a 92 year old woman. She explained how they grow, how they bloom at night and follow the moon as it passes over the earth. She also told me how the seed pods will "explode" and spread the seeds everywhere, and told me she'd grab some of the pods for me at the right time so I could take them home and let them work their magic.
She was as fascinating as the flowers she spoke about. Her wisdom and friendship inspired the poem.
