Sterling Daniels was born July 11th, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois. The fourth child out of six children, a young Sterling learned fast how to help out around the house because his older siblings were helping contributing to the household financially. The circumstances during this time frame in his life left him no other choice but to choose the only way out he could see fit for him. Mr. Daniels ended up on a Greyhound bus to Milwaukee, WI where he was chosen to be “Raised In The Game”.
In 1968 at the young tender age of 14, Sterling Daniels had to learn how to survive in world that was excluding and targeting most young black men. Jim Crow’s law was still in full effect even up north. Sterling Daniels knew of Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and even studied Marcus Garvey, but when your stomach is feeding on itself and your furnace is broken you have to take chances on what other opportunities life has for you. He was taken under the wing of his Uncle Tapout, who taught him the difference between a boy and a man. Sterling Daniels had entered manhood at the age of 14; by the time he was 17 years of age he was known as “Dan The Man”.
Today after serving a 26 year sentence for his first crime, Sterling Daniels has changed is life around. He has given his life to God and is set out to be a mentor to youth caught up in the same cycle. Furthermore, Mr. Daniels has learned that there is power in a pen as he pursues his career as an author.
