Ty Connell: The Noir Novellas

The Noir Novellas. Three novella length short stories - approximately 35,000 words each - that capture the dark side of the police world. Cases that working cops would rather forget ever happened. The kind that haunt and linger. Evil. Tragic. Disturbing.

About Michael C. Hughes

Michael has had three biographies of colorful sports/media personalities published. His book about what was termed the "Detroit Race Riots of 1967" -- DISPOSSESSED: THE BURNING OF MURDER CITY USA -- was a nominee in the 2018 Michigan Notable Books campaign.

Raised in Battle Creek, Michigan, Michael became hooked on the world of mystery fiction when, at age fourteen, he discovered Conan Doyle and Dashiell Hammett.

Det. Ty Connell is a hybrid character based on several police officers Michael Hughes has known and worked with personally at city, state, and federal levels. Michael also counts as a reliable source a formerly active member of one of New York City's major crime families since retired from "the Life."
