About Evelyn Weiss

I live twice.
Once, here in 2017, where I've written a novel about a very modern girl. Who happens to work in the oldest profession. A girl who has to find a killer - before she's imprisoned for murder.
But I also live over 100 years ago. I inhabit the Golden Age of 1912-1914. The age of the Titanic. An age of elegance - and scandal.
Secrets and spies, hidden violence and terror. The last glorious sunset glow before World War One - when, as Sir Edward Grey put it "The lamps are going out all over Europe. We shall not see them lit again, in our lifetime."
Follow me into the darkness.

Totally different to every other book I've ever seen.
In a really, really good way.
I can honestly say this is the best mystery book I've read in my life.

Amazingly original! There's nothing else like this out there. And what a kick-ass heroine.

A unique and original take on the classic mystery detective formula, with a very unusual but believable lead character. The plot is as clever and twisted as any classic crime thriller, but the blog-style narrative gets you right inside the heroine's head. You literally feel the shock when the final twist happens.

Great story, Badly Written. Too complicated to read. Active/passive/direct , no clue where one begins and the other, ends.
Gave me a headache. Finished it as i liked the plot. Bad decision.

Since I completely agree with the previous reviewers comments I'll simply say...thank you Evelyn Weiss for your superb novels "The Outcall and "Murder on the Titanic".You have truly created two masterpieces and have shown yourself to be a wordsmith of the highest order.Your reaserch on these books is so impeccable that it's almost as if you have lived the life of a London escort and survived the sinking of the Titanic.

I really enjoyed the other Weiss book, but this one blew me away. A totally original way to start a mystery story - I just had to keep turning the pages! Holly Harlow is a really believable character full of streetwise personality and sharp humour. The plot moves quickly but each scene and character is so well described that you feel you know them. The sense of mystery keeps growing, each discovery adds new clues but throws up new questions. Then there is a sudden twist and you see the whole thing in a completely different light. A genuine surprise ending - fantastic.
