Married In Haste
Lord Youngtown wants to marry. Though he tells everyone it’s because he needs an heir, deep down he’s a romantic at heart and longs for a love match. A simple scandal not of his doing gives him a lady who isn’t the kind of lady he wants, but it might give him the lady he needs. More
Brad Bachman, the Earl of Youngtown, is the most predictable and orderly gentleman in London. In fact, there is no other gentleman more concerned with having every strand of hair in place or making sure everything in his townhouse is neat and tidy. Also, unlike other gentlemen, he planned out his entire life when he was a child. And so far, everything has gone according to plan. Except for one thing: he doesn't have a wife. With his twenty-sixth birthday quickly approaching, he begins to wonder if his future will ever hold the love match he's been searching for over the past three years.
Miss Ava Baynes would like a love match, too, but she doesn't possess the grace other ladies do. No matter how hard she tries, she can't seem to avoid bumping into things or making other blunders that embarrass others around her. Because of this, she only has one friend who dares to be seen in public with her. So how is she supposed to secure a proposal by the end of her first Season? With her family needing money--and needing it fast--she must marry this Season, or else they will be destitute.
Fortunately for her, and perhaps unfortunately for Brad, Brad's younger brother takes it upon himself to put the two together in a compromising position which leads to a scandal. While Brad and Ava have finally secured a marriage, it wasn't quite the one he expected...or even wanted. Just how is London's most orderly gentleman and London's clumsiest lady supposed to ever find a love match when they don't complement each other at all?
