Vicat Softening Temperature
Material which does not have a definite melting point, Vicat Temperature test is a good way to determine its softening point, such as plastics. This test method is used in gauging the ability of polymers to retain their mechanical properties (in this case surface properties) at high temperatures.

Ball Pressure Test
Ball pressure test is a thermal stress test. Insulation materials -used in electrical appliances like electrical switches and sockets - shall be subjected to thermal stress, hence external parts of insulating material shall be sufficiently resistant to thermal stress which might cause harmful deterioration, and used appliances becomes unsafe.

Heat deflection test (HDT)
Heat deflection test (HDT) is a three point bending test (figure 3.1) to measure heat deflection temperature. Heat deflection temperature is used to determine short-term heat resistant of tested material, and distinguish between materials that are able to sustain light loads at high temperatures and those that lose rigidity ¬over a narrow temperature range.
