Review by: Phil Lembo on April 1, 2018 :
Solid hard scifi journey of discovery with believable situations and characters. Good world building, both at home and in space, particularly in conveying the oppressive nature of the authorities who value secrecy above human life (while rationalizing that it's in the interests of humanity). The sense I got was similar to I felt about the society in Heinlein's _Starship Troopers_. Appreciated that the story didn't end in a cliff hanger, but did leave the door open for further adventures.

A very interesting and enjoyable read, the concept seems far fetched but the author manages to add such detail to the narrative that the plot is both plausible and engrossing, you won't be able to put it down! A multi layered story that looks like it's setup for more to come. Looking forward to new books in the same universe.
