About James Hold

"First you're an unknown, then you write one book and you move up to obscurity." — Martin Meyers

I published my first book in 2004. It became an immediate collector's item. I know this for a fact as I have several hundred copies collecting dust in my attic. Critics everywhere said it belonged right up there between Ernest Hemingway and Robert E Howard—on an alphabetical bookshelf.

My influences include Rocky & Bullwinkle, 1950s sci-fi movies, and silver-age comics.

I live in Texas with my Princess wife, and cats Rocky and Dusty. You can contact me at jamesroyhold@gmail.com.

Keep it up, great series, you are far from obscure in my opinion.

Wow what a brilliant story. So well told I laughed out loud at the use of her name. This is the best story I've read today and I've read quite a few. Well done! I must read some more of your work.

The author certainly has been prolific in the past few days with his Yegua Kid tales. Not that I'm complaining. It's interesting how he once again works a surf instrumental title into a western setting.
Like Andre said, it's a very sentimental about a self-fulfilling prophecy and the 'victim' gets exactly what's coming to her.
It's also about greed, racism, bigotry, pride, covetousness, someone wrongly blamed for the misdeeds of another, and maybe a dozen other things as well.
The author has so many series going on it's hard to pick a favorite. But that's allright with me so long as he keeps on writing and entertaining us.

A very sentimental story about forbidden love. A girl being withheld from what she wants, still she steps up and learn to run.

The writing is good, the characters seem real and it all makes up a perfect tale.
