The story of one mans’ plan to sell Australia… and the guy who wrote the ad. More
He helped create a country that is totally consumed by greed. Now Chris Stevens, advertising writer extraordinaire at the pinnacle of his career, wants out. His chance comes when Paul Fraser the President of Australia plans the ultimate revenge on his political opponents. If he can’t be President, no one can. The President offers Chris his big chance of freedom, but first he has to take the greed of the people to a whole new level. Paul Frasers plans to sell Australia to the highest bidder in a global auction. This would make every Australian citizen, (except those in prison), close to 3 million dollars each. But first they have to spruce the place up. At first Chris baulks, but in a world where greed is spelt with an extra ‘e’ and mindless consumerism rules, the time seems ripe for the world’s biggest real estate deal, and the greatest musical commercial of all time. After Chris suffers a short but severe illness, the President reveals that his political opponents in The Party have powerful mind control weapon known as the ‘willies’. The only defence is cheap cologne called Brutale, which he must wear at all times. Chris and the new love of his life an emerging artist called Indigo, travel to Croatia to write the musical. He decides that Country and Western has the widest appeal. Anyway, it’s easier for him to write lyrics to a Tennessee Waltz type ‘boom tit tit… boom tit tit’ beat.
