A fantasy about a world of magic hidden from everyday life, the story takes place sometime near the end of the nineties, when dangerous forces are at work, undermining the delicate balance of things.

The first part begins when a future leader of the Wizards is kidnapped, and Rosa, a Witch Hunter, is summoned to help track down and save the victim. In her search, Rosa ends up in an encounter with James, a mercenary working for the Werewolves. The two of them come to realise that they are after the same thing, so eventually, they decide to work together to solve the crime.

In the second part, another Witch Hunter, Vanessa, is investigating an attack on the Vampires. But while attempting to find the perpetrator, she ends up captured and chained. Vanessa is interrogated, and forced to reveal her order's secrets, resulting in an attack on the Wizards themselves: A dangerous traitor attempts to steal a truck and its valuable cargo, but the Wizards put up a fight and defend the transport, battling across Upstate New York in a high-speed chase.

Part three sees the Witch Hunters themselves become the hunted, when Marcus, a former leader of the Wizards, suddenly rises again to power through a coup. The story of a family of Wizards is told, as a group of Witch Hunters flee from Marcus, and escape to Whitestone Island: the last lifeline for the Wizards, and ultimately, for the entire magical world.

The bonus short story tells of what comes after, and of what came before, as an Apprentice reviews a mission gone terribly wrong.
