Blaque Diamond was born in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1989, and moved to Charleston, South Carolina when she was just 11 months old where she grew up. She began writing at the age of 11 due to urging from her fifth grade teacher. Being such a gifted child she took to writing with gusto.
She and her brother's spent plenty of days making up stories and telling them to each other. When they found that they couldn't keep the facts of their stories straight, they began writing them down. Blaque Diamond at the age of 12 made her first attempt at writing a book. Back then she was into horror and thrillers so that was the genre in which her book rested. The book was entitled The Telephone Killer. She wrote a few chapters, but never finished the book. Her writing then veered off to poetry. She wrote poems about any and everything. Her poetry told her stories of struggles she endured in her young life.
Her love of writing first began with her love of reading. On any given day she could be found with her face buried in a book. Anything related to reading in school she was always involved in. She volunteered to help younger children learn to read, and she participated in competitions dealing with reading. Instead of playing outside with the other children, she would be sitting somewhere surrounded by books.
Blaque Diamond has written off and on for many years. Her writings now consists of poetry, short-stories, novellas, and she is working on a couple of novels. Her genre of choice for writing poetry varies from love, life, inspiration, erotica, and everything in between. Her other genres of choice for writing are urban romance, African american general fiction, drama fiction, and urban fiction. When she is not writing, Blaque Diamond enjoys shopping, traveling, volunteering, listening to music, hanging out with loved ones, interacting on social media and cooking.
