About Keara Kevay

Keara is an Irish lass who enjoys spinning erotic romances. Her novels are character driven and intriguing enough to jump off the page and pull the reader into the story. Her favorite compliment was when one of her readers declared, "God, I love how you think!"

She spends the bulk of her time on the beach in Florida, but can be found relaxing on the lake shores in Maine, or picking blackberries along the northern California coastline.

BEST NIGHT EVER is one of those books where the story starts one way, but ends in a completely different manner. Its central protagonist is Jordie Michaels, a sexually ambivalent, coarse, bad boy pop star. Sapphire is a young woman who enters, and wins, the local radio station's "Best Night Ever" song contest, where she is granted some of Jordie's private time in his trailer. Will the sensitive Sapphire be able to hold her own with the foul-mouthed, demanding Jordie, or, will he be taught some lessons he will never forget?

What ensues is an intimate, no holds barred exploration of these two main characters, which is both explicit, and eye-opening in nature. While a large focus of the story revolves around the sexual attraction between these characters, the story contains a sobering, and realistic, undercurrent where the reader is presented with background information about both Jordie and Sapphire, which makes their motivations clearer, and more understandable, to the reader. Not an 'easy' read in any way, but a satisfying one nonetheless, BEST NIGHT EVER is a story which alternately repels, shocks, charms and surprises the reader, and has two well-rounded characters who hold the reader's attention to the very end.

This is great writing and your characters are interesting. You really know how to grip the reader and you edit fairly well except for a few blind spots, such as subjunctive verb forms and forgetting to use ‘had’. Lindsay Delagair also forgets ‘had,’ so this may be a regional speech mannerism.

The first scene piqued my interest nicely, pulling me into Jordie's world without effort. At first, he comes off as spoiled and a bit of an ass. The kind of lifestyle he lived as a star would make anyone demanding, especially since everything he wanted, he got.

Then in walks Sapphire, a young woman who won a contest on a radio show, and her prize was to meet Jordie and have private time with him. When Jordie first took her into his bus, I won't lie, I wanted to smack him upside the head, but at the same time, he noticeably acted much better toward her than even he expected of himself.

I don't want to give the story away, but I found a lot of information packed into this story while still maintaining a sexy vibe. I really think that some of the reviewers who rated this low didn't pay attention to the story aspect of it at all. For me, the characters came across well-rounded with both positive and negative aspects, creating a full picture in my mind. I would have loved to keep on reading when I hit the end, and I'm looking forward to reading the second part.

Keara Kevay does an excellent job knitting a complete story through this short piece, as well as bringing Jordan and Sapphire to life for the reader to connect to and relate with. There was an unexpected emotional element, and I quite enjoyed it.

Dear author: I really fell in love with Jordie's character. He comes off as an asshole but in the end, he was very sweet. I also enjoyed Sapphire's character. Please bring their personalities back in a future story!

I, too would love to have this story turned into a much larger one. What happens? Can she deal with him being a gay boy? or does he realize that it was due to his abuse.

I love that they found each other.

It's well-written, but felt like it needed to be part of a longer novel. The characters have depth and pathos to them which doesn't - to my mind - work in a story of this length. It felt at times like being a voyeur watching two unhappy people, more sad and uncomfortable than erotic.

It was quite sad, actually, with everything that we learned about Jordan's and Sapphire's pasts, but it did have a happier ending.

Might as well forget underwear if I keep reading this author - wow! I bought her novel for my Kindle from Amazon before I found smashwords. I read the two short stories now I'm going for the novel over the weekend. If she wrote it like these I'll be smiling. Don't quit girl - you do have fans!

Wasn't sure I'd care for this one but she hooked me from the beginning and didn't let go until the last sentence. What a story teller! But I am left wondering if there might be a sequal to this? I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS THE NEXT MORNING! Enjoying the freebees but you could easily charge for these shorts. They are worth it.
