Light, picturesque and sexy.
I loved the Affair, so much more than I expected. I couldn't put it down and finished it in one sitting.
I do have a problem with cheating so it took me a while to get past it; but I did. I understood where the characters though which helped.
It was exactly what I needed.
Not very often do characters feel like family to me but the characters in this trilogy do. I resonated with the characters, the family and the art. I fell in love with The Affair; but after The Secret, this trilogy became a favourite. Elle's journey to her new self and embracing it was absolutely beautiful.
I really liked the different reactions on the matter from characters around them; it felt like readers' varied opinions were addressed at the same time. All the angst was so worth it though!!
The Consequence was the perfect ending and in this book we also get Sin's POV. It is definitely my favourite of the trilogy. It was just so much more and I couldn't put it down.
Paris, the people, the art, the music, and the sex. It's so inspiring and beautiful. Darling's writing just makes it really easy to visualize everything. She transports you to their world and suddenly you're walking in Paris meeting strangers and getting to know a little more about them. I adore the main characters, the secondary and fleeting ones, as well.
Elle's transformation and journey is so raw and real that I could feel it. Same with the other characters and their development.
All in all, this trilogy really surprised me in how it instantly became a favourite despite the fact that I honestly can't stomach reading about affairs and cheating. I'm looking forward to more from Darling.
