About the Series: Poems Of A Musical Flavour
I started writing songs when I was 15 in 1989. I wanted to be a singer and fancied myself as Australia’s answer to Debbie Gibson. I wrote songs until 1996 and didn’t write again until that one song in 2002. Then that was it…

Four years later I wrote my first novel and I think my lyrics made way for that. I write books under three names now and maybe these songs, these lyrics, were the beginning of my ability to come up with unusual titles and strange themes. I even wrote song trilogies which have stood me in good stead for writing book and story trilogies. Lyrics were clearly my training for bigger and longer stories, which songs are. They are stories of love, pain, hurt, heartache...

From something that started when I was in year ten at high school, my life took many a turn, and here we are, nearly 30 years later, and I still don’t sing or write song lyrics because I’m so busy writing everything else that’s in my head. But you just never know…because I can feel that vibe starting again…
