About Jo Martinez

BORN in 1922 in the south of England, Jo Martinez (Inez) is 50 going on a 100. Privileged to serve with British Overseas Forces during WW2, Inez migrated to Australia in 1986 where Australian veterans made her and her ex-serviceman husband welcome on their arrival.
With the help of veterans and some local GPs Inez was able to volunteer the use of the nursing skills she had as a Queen’s District Nursing Sister, which helped her continue to contribute to her community in various ways.
Now widowed with two sons in a close-knit family Inez leads an active life with other seniors and groups who share her interest in the mystery of life, and is an active member of the Bassendean Writers’ Group.
Gypsies and Gentry is her first novel.
