About Nicolle Shield

** Wattpad Featured Author **

I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. According to my parents, I had taught myself to read by the age of three, and just never stopped. I'm thankful to say that this is a hobby my son seems to have inherited too. I have always enjoyed a wide variety of books, from fantasy and sci-fi to romance and teen fiction.

I found Wattpad one day when I was looking online for new books to read. I found my library on there full of books very quickly and enjoyed the fact that people can comment and get involved with the story and the author.

After a few months of reading on the site, I decided to have a go at writing myself. Once I had an idea for a story, the characters wouldn't leave me alone until I'd finished it. In fact, they even insisted on a sequel too! I'm sure most authors will completely understand the sleepless nights caused by characters and plot lines pestering away until they are written out!

A very good read! Nicolle shows excellent insight into the complexities of her characters' interactions and the motives which are behind them. Believable, complex characters and a good storyline combine to produce a good book overall. The work is more character-driven than plot-driven, but only by a little way. Nice to find a work in this genre which takes this approach; it's unusual and refreshing. Looking forward to more works by Nicolle: keep up the good work!

VERY interesting story…….
Dare I 'say' … unique?
Being an American; born and raised in the south, now transplanted to Texas; one thing I did note.
The manner of UK speech / written language meant sometimes I had to pause and 'rehash' what I just read.
Reading the story was still well worth the effort.
I partially liked that it didn't have excessive extra details which can often cause a story to drag.
I especially liked how Nicolle described Laura's finding out what a family really is; biological or not.
WELL DONE Nicolle!
PS - love the tents!

This story is interesting. The prose is efficient. I appreciate that it is more character-oriented than many similar works in the genre.
