Yanka and the Dragons is a fantasy coming-of-age story. This is a great read for upper elementary or middle school age children or for parents to read to younger children and discuss the themes of responsibility, family, honesty, and hope. Yanka is a young girl in a dangerous age, straddled with more responsibility than most, but who rises to the challenges before her. It is an exciting, sometimes bumpy ride, as she faces her fears and dreads, and overcomes.
