A cynical, mercenary main character you will love to hate – and then feel with every step of the way. I have never read a book in which the plot consists mainly of dialog instead of action and yet makes you want to read on and on. An amazing book with thorough character building and an unexpected, realistic and saddening turn that still leaves you filled with hope and gratefulness. One star deduction for the punctuation and spelling erros that sometimes hampered the reading flow, otherwise very, very well done.

I enjoyed this book, and it kept me reading, wanting to follow the progress of the various characters, and of the main character. The setting works well as a way to explore different personalities, the challenges they face, and the impact of these on the main character, who gains deeper insight into himself as a result. The writer's knowledge of / research into the area of counselling, psychotherapy and psychology adds a deeper level to the story, which also made me want to keep reading.
I'm giving four stars because I found the number of typos quite distracting, but the story is good and, if edited more thoroughly, would be an even better read.
