Daisy Moses, Eddie Haskell, 60’s TV and The Bible takes a look at numerous characters from popular television shows of the 1960’s from the perspective of The Word of God. Baby Boomers all across the nation were raised on a ‘diet’ of some of the truly great and memorable shows in the 70-plus year history of TV.
The Bible has much to say about the behavior, attitudes and actions of mankind. The 60’s, while a time of great societal change, featured some lighthearted and morally upright programs. Because of the day and time that characterized the 60’s, the vast majority of the roles played were genuinely good and pleasant ones.
Naturally enough, The Bible mentions none of the characters by name, but it has much to say about the parts they played. Without a doubt they contributed to the prevailing innocence of that era. While most of those highlighted were ‘good’, that wasn’t the case with all characters from the comparatively carefree times of the 60’s. There were also characters who failed to measure up to Bible standards and this book will take a critical look at some of them as well.
In addition, the final section will deal with what the author believes is the one incident back in the 60’s that changed the course of America and its morals and how that was reflected in the shows that began to arrive on the scene as the 60’s drew to a close.
