Joe Lafferty is a Pittsburgh born and bred child of God. He graduated and coached football for 13 years at Woodland Hills High School.(Pittsburgh, PA) Lafferty studied marketing and sports business at Mercyhurst College and the University of Memphis while working as a student in these respective athletic departments. The life Joe has lived is been filled with several "once-in-a-lifetime" experiences such as beating cancer,(age 8) being friends with Dan Marino,(ages 15-17) losing his vision,(age 29) coaching several NFL players in high school,(age 30-40) dying for 7 minutes,(age 35) and a multiple organ transplant.(age 37) In this memoir, some celebrity friends and family, also share their perspective of Joe's winning fight for life. After beating the toughest challenges, Joe found the love for which he'd always searched. Her name is Jennifer and she has two sons, Cameron and Brannon.
Jeff Schober has a journalism degree from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in humanities from the University at Buffalo. As a journalist, he has written for several Western New York publications. He taught American history and Shakespeare in an alternative education high school for several years beforebecoming an English teacher at Frontier High School. In 1998, he was part of the National Endowment for the Humanities summer program, Teaching Shakespeare, at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C. He has acted in plays around Buffalo and in St. Catharines, Ontario. In addition to writing, he is an avid reader and hockey player. With his wife, Teri, he has two stepsons.
