Rated 5.00/5 based on 2 reviews
What I Learned From Jane is the true story of how a child born with severe brain damage changed her mother's life.

Here is an excerpt:

"And I have no other explanation for how it feels to have given birth to a person and then spent a few days with them before letting them go other than that:

It feels like being a mother probably feels every day.

It felt like being a mother."

About Mollie Player

Mollie Player is just a regular person who’s nevertheless trying to do a few really hard things: overcome depression forever—and maybe get enlightened, too. Her plan: read as many helpful books as she can, then implement their advice—and pass along everything she learns along the way.

The results so far: her Mystical Memoir series, beginning with You're Getting Closer: One Year of Finding God and a Few Good Friends, which follows her attempts to find inner peace through practical, spiritual techniques; other self-help books; and her blog, Suddenly Awesome.

Suddenly Awesome is unapologetic self-help advice for the self-obsessed. There, Player writes about the books, tips and spiritual practices that make her otherwise ordinary life suddenly awesome.

Player lives in Seattle, Washington. All of her ebooks, all of the time, are free.

All of Player’s works are available on Amazon, on Smashwords and by emailing her (for PDF versions). See mollieplayer.com for more information and to subscribe to her blog.

“Player’s writing approach really reels in the reader into the atmosphere and the circumstances. There are solid moments where without having an objective point of reference to relate to, the reader still manages to relate due to the way in which the author gets the reader involved.” – Kade

“My life has changed after reading this book. I thought it might be a book that I could share but it is not. It is a beautiful keepsake and I know I will read it many more times. I felt so many emotions and to be honest I wish it did not end. This writing is so profound.” – Patty

Brilliant book, very sad. Well written and inspiring. Tragedy can destroy us or make us stronger, the choice is always ours.

Hauntingly beautiful. The Prologue alone of this true story was written with so much sincerity that you feel like a part of the story from the beginning. Its hard not to become emotionally involved — every page is more gripping than the one before it, and by the end, I felt thankful that Mollie had the strength to share Jane's story. I think Jane changed the lives of so many people, in the few days she was here, including myself, because her story is one of love and faith, and how one's life can be forever changed when you wholly give in to both.
