Hush-a-bye Baby on a Chemo Drip ... The True Story of Sandra-Mari Blaauw
Miracles and divine healing are still happening today. Oncologists diagnosed our newborn baby Sandra-Mari with Letterer-Siwe, an incurable disease with a nil-prognosis and started chemotherapy when she was ten months old. Three months later she was sent home to die. As Christian believers we chose to put our trust in Jesus Christ, the Healer. After intense prayer Sandra was miraculously healed. More
One often thinks that those cursed words “a nil prognosis,” or “you are terminally ill” only happen to “other” people, but what do you do when you are the one who has to hear those dreaded words? “You have an incurable disease; you will die within in so many months.” My wife Marianne and I had to hear that our baby Sandra would certainly die and we were devastated. Against all odds we hoped and prayed that there would be a solution and that we would escape this terrible sword hanging over our heads.
Like so many other parents in the past, we kept on asking why our beautiful, ten-month-old baby would, according to the doctors, die. Our family could not accept that this was what God wanted for us. The more the specialists who crossed our path confronted us with medical reality and their learned opinions, the stronger our conviction grew that Lord Jesus would provide a way out. With faith from above we clung to the hope that our child would escape the horrible death predicted by medical specialists. Jesus was our only hope and we held to Him with all our might.
Marianne kept a diary of Sandra’s progress as a baby. We believe that this diary was inspired by the Holy Spirit to serve as a factual recount of Sandra’s suffering and how we found our way out of a maze of pain and anguish. Initially Marianne's intention was merely to record the joy and fun of our baby's growth and development. We had no idea then that Sandra had been afflicted with an incurable disease.
This book describes how Sandra-Marí escaped death through a healing miracle. We pray that her story will also help to strengthen your faith in the fact that our Lord Jesus is still performing miracles, even today in this modern day and age. We would like to request that you put your trust in Jesus; He, the Son of God and Saviour of mankind, never disappoints. After all, “He is the Way, the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6).
