This short story had GREAT action scenes, and I enjoyed reading it despite a few minor typos. However, I found the ending both predictable and confusing. Predictable in the cavalry coming to the rescue (so to speak) and confusing in the hostile way they were suddenly interacting with each other. Overall, however, it was quite an enjoyable read.

"The Queen and the Castle" is an action packed short story. While it's set in one of my favorite genres, I feel the characters could have been fleshed out more and the story slowed down a bit. I very much would like to read a sequel, one that expands the story by having deeper characters and a more unique world.

A fast-paced, action-filled story that leaves the reader wanting more. I look forward to reading more of Wilson's work. Nice cover, too!
