Perfect book for those of us who love getting lost in historical fiction that invokes a longing for the patriotism and love of family and country of yesteryear. Highest recommendation!

Kittleson is a superb writer who crafts a well-paced, intriguing story. Her characters are larger than life, people we would love to emulate. Her historical details ring true and lend authenticity to the tale. In the midst of war, faith and hope shine. I thoroughly enjoyed losing myself in the story.
