About R. Peter Mogielnicki

Robert Peter Mogielnicki, M.D. is Professor of Medicine emeritus at Dartmouth (now Geisel) Medical School. Most of his previous publications have been in the professional medical literature with a recent foray into personal essays on his blog at Cereflections.com. Dissection is his first attempt at fiction and has been in progress for the past 5 years. As an undergraduate at Cornell University Dr. Mogielnicki wavered between careers in medicine and creative writing. Eventually choosing the former, he attended Harvard Medical School, did his residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital, spent time at both the National Institutes of Health and on the Harvard Medical Medical School faculty, ran the Emergency Department at the University of Colorado Medical Center and then spent 35 years on the faculty at Dartmouth and its affiliated Veterans Hospital from which he retired five years ago to give a second chance to his second undergraduate career choice.

Since completing Dissection he has been building Legos and racing radio-controlled toy cars with his grandchildren, working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, gardening, birding and saltwater fly fishing.
