Mortimer is a tricky old fella. I would not want him for a neighbor. This short read will make your skin prickle, send tingles down your spine, and give you a phobia of grandfather clocks.

One thing about it, old Mortimer knows how to turn a buck. So many customers, too many disappearances. Where did they all go?

As with most of Miss Mae's captivating mysteries, the answer is left to your imagination. A wonderful and visual mystery that will keep you glued to the page. I highly recommend it for ages 10 and up.

Mr Mortimer's antique store hides a secret. There is often an air of mystery about antique shops and their treasures, but Miss Mae takes this further - much further. What starts off as an intriguing tale about well off bargain hunters, develops into something more ominous. Miss Mae is adept at hinting at the 'dark side' but she does it so skilfully and delicately the reader hardly realises the sinister world into which they're being led. An entertaining short read, highly recommended!

In search of the one item you've always dreamed of? Then Mr. Mortimer's Antique Store is the place to go. He's sure to have what you're looking for. How he gets it now--well, let's just say he takes inventory procurement to a new level.

Miss Mae might be a pure Southern genteel author but there's always a touch of another time and place in her mysteries. She'd be right at home having tea with Sir Author Conan Doyle and Edgar Allen Poe!
