About the author: Mike Hartman is a technical manager for a large corporation. He served in the US Navy for six years as a nuclear reactor operator. During that time he spent many months in the Caribbean Sea chasing drug smugglers and spent seven months patrolling the Mediterranean recovering downed U.S. Navy pilots, both dead and alive. He patrolled off the coast of Lebanon when Terry Waite was taken hostage by the Islamic Jihad Organization. He also patrolled the waters off the coast of Libya and crossed the famous "line of death" established by Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi.
