From the cover, I expected this to be everything you want to see from a true indie author - it was a delightfully amateurish image, such as to bring a smile to my face. But when I read the story, I was surprised to find it was done in an ironic sense. The story itself was funny and fun - the author doesn't take himself too seriously. To say he shattered the 4th wall is a bit misleading as it was never there to begin with. Only thing that detracted was that this was a piece in a broader universe, however at no point did I feel I missed anything having not read the other works. The characters here were largely original to the story, and the adventure entirely self-contained. I didn't think it would be easy to exceed my expectations from the cover, but I was wrong - I loved this story!
