She is brooding on how life has betrayed her. It wasn't supposed to turn out this way, but here she was, in a darkened room, afraid of what was coming next to get her. It has wrapped its malicious tentacles around her, she couldn't stop it, even if she tried, and she had tried many times, leaving her, as she was now, contemplating, of all people, why her? Until one day, she reaches deep within her and makes a promise to herself that no more will she succumb to it's whim, but then, she forgets to factor in the presence of Maggie.
