Martin was born and grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, and fell in love with aircraft & paper aircraft from an early age, building his first complex paper aircraft model when he was only 4 years old. He learnt many skills from his late father, from which he both received with and shared in his passion.

Martin has developed fine skills in design and engineering of high performance paper model aircraft since these early days, and has decades of expertise in the subject.
