Taming the Vampire is a short, sassy, and sexy read, introducing a new world where Green Fae (named because of the Absinthe they drink) and Vampires fight side by side. Liz has a chip on her shoulder, fighting to prove she is just as good/strong as other Fae even though she is only 1/16th Fae. The chip takes the form of Jack Morgan, sex-on-legs vampire that she is attracted to, even as she loathes him.

This novella takes place over a couple of evenings, so the pacing is fast. However, you still get a very good idea of this world, and the characters in it. There are characters mentioned that I look forward to learning more about.

As an introduction, as a short and sexy read, this novella ticks all the boxes. Definitely recommended by me.

Taming the Vampire by Chloe Hart
Blood and Absinthe Book 1
Liz Marlowe is a demon hunter. Without as much Fae in her as others she has fought harder to be good at what she does. But right now they have a big problem in town and it falls on her to get rid of it. Her friend Celia has found a spell that can give Liz what she needs to overpower the creature. Only it requires the help of a vampire….in a rather personal way. She doubts Jack will help her because she just knows he hates her.

Jack Morgan is the handsome vampire around town. He helps the Fae where he can. When Liz propositions him for his help, he is more gladly to help than she realizes. If only she didn’t hate him so much.

Can these two get past their selves enough to help protect Boston? And maybe they’ll see they aren’t quite the enemies they always thought they were. It was a nice easy read and it looks like there is also a book 2 & 3.

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I got this book as a free download from Amazon.

Liz is a human with 8th of fae and a warrior that has been trained since early childhood. There is a demon lose on the earth that is killing anything that gets in its way. Liz is the only one that can kill him but she needs the help her friend Jack a vampire. Jack and Liz have been friends for a long time but have always hated each other. Even though they have always hated each other and told each other that they hate the other there has still been an attraction between them that they keep to themselves. They don't want to believe or admit that they are attracted to the other.

This attraction between them is what is going to help Liz fight the demon and win. Without it she will never be strong enough. She is not sure if what she needs from the Jack is what she wants or if it is worth having the power she needs to save everyone. Liz is a very strong warrior and is afraid that she will lose that if she lets her guard down even if just for one night. She is afraid of being weak and letting someone else be in control.

Taming the Vampire caught my attention from the very first page and I didn't like having to lay it down the few times that I did but I had no choise. It is a very great read although I wish that it had been longer. I would have like to know more about Liz and Jack and why they seemed to hate each with such intensity.

This is a fun, sweet, sexy novella about a vampire and mostly human girl with just enough fae blood to be a warrior. Enjoyed it in one sitting and wished it was longer! Hate a good story to end... Ms. Hart has followed this up with another good story with characters from this one, it too is an excellent read. This is the first in a series to come called Blood and Absinthe. I do hope she writes more about Liz and Jack in the books to follow. If you like this genre you certainly want to read all the books in this series!!

Taming the Vampire is a short, easy read.

Liz Marlowe is a demon hunter. Coming from a long line of Green Fae, Liz is a mostly human warrior striving to prove her worth on the streets of Boston which are currently being stalked by an unknown menace. She is attracted to the vampire Jack Morgan who has allied himself with her cause but because of his species she despises him and vice versa. This being a paranormal romance we know where this is going to end up; nonetheless getting to that point is a fun read.

It’s fun watching the sexual tension between Jack and her grow. You can sense the electricity crackling in the air when these two are bickering.

A spicy, enjoyable read.
