About G D Penman

G D Penman writes Speculative Fiction. He lives in Scotland with his partner and children, some of whom are human. He is a firm believer in the axiom that any story is made better by dragons. His beard has won an award. If you have ever read a story with Kaiju and queer people, it was probably one of his. In those few precious moments that he isn’t parenting or writing he likes to watch cartoons, play video and tabletop games, read more books than are entirely feasible and continues his quest to eat the flesh of every living species.

He began his writing career at the age of six, ploughing through a whole three pages of his very first novel before being banned from the computer for using rude words. He briefly attended college where he studied professional writing skills, most of which were rendered immediately obsolete by the internet. Once upon a time he was the editor of Forgotten Worlds Magazine, then Amphetamine Press, before both tragically vanished without a trace.

To support his writing habit he has worked a plethora of terrible and not so terrible day-jobs over the years. Including but not limited to: Bartender, Body Piercer, Hormonal Breast Enhancement Salesman, Waiter, Book Reviewer, Dishwasher, Receptionist, Call Centre Misery Sponge, Bookseller, Game Designer, Coffee Shop Manager, Assistive Technology Practitioner, VIP Liaison, Masseur and Nutritionist. Like you, he does not know how he had time for all of that.
