About Mel Corbett

I am fascinated with the question “What if?” and as such I write mainly in the speculative fiction genres, including science fiction, fantasy, and paranormal. I wonder what would happen if our world brushed up against another world and what those results might be.

I love adventures of all sorts and am currently planning my next big adventures. I failed spectacularly at completing the ironman this year and am hoping to make my big comeback next year.

It took a few pages into the story for me to become so enthralled with it that it was hard to stop reading!! Mages, snake, humans and vampires!! Samantha was out with a friend when she's roughly taken and put onto a ship. Things happened on there that made a bad impression on her. Then at the end of the journey her and everyone else on the ship are tossed out into the ocean. In trying to get to the surface, an unknown man helps her. Jim is his name and he and Sam find a grocery store to hide out in from the people with the plague that rots then while they're still alive. Sam has decided it's time to leave DC because if the powers that be decide to nuke the city they'll be done. She manages to convince him to leave. On their way to a hunting shop they run across other people who help them with the ill who have attacked them. There in the shop she speaks to Natasha and makes a good case as to why they should leave. So off they go. It's a long walk to the ocean and on the way they lose one of their people. Then they're at the ocean and it's full of bodies. Then an unearthly thing rises and attacks them. Things just get worse and worse. Until Natasha realizes that something/someone is trying to rope them back to the city. From here on out their adventure takes them towards the danger and the worse enemy Natasha has.
This story will keep you enthralled till the very last page!!
