About Kevin Potter

After spending many years in various ventures from restaurant management to IT, technical support and building custom computer hardware, I have finally returned to my first love. I wrote my first short story, about a magical pair of shoes, at the age of 9 and have been working on it as a hobby ever since, though only recently have I worked up the nerve to get anything published.
I've been writing poetry since 2006 and have built up a massive collection. My first publication, Imprisonment, is comprised mostly of what I consider to be some of my best work, though, due to the theme of this compilation, I was unfortunately forced to cut many of my best poems. They simply wouldn't have gone well with the rest of the subject matter. Although, I do fully intend to issue a more complete poetry publication at some point in the future.
I started working on my novel The Transformation in late 2010 and am still in the process of editing, but will hopefully soon be pursuing a traditional publishing deal for it.
The idea for the world of Val-Harra and the Calamity series quite literally just dropped in my lap while I was working out some ideas for a fantasy roleplaying game that I was designing, and it took off from there. I started planning the project in early 2012 and have been working hard to get the stories written since then.
