About Nancy King

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Nancy King received a B.S. in movement and dance from the State University at Cortland, NY, an M.A. in theatre from the University of Delaware, and a Ph.D. in Symbolic Learning from the Union Institute and University. She has taught theatre and drama, creative expression, literacy, and innovative education, and led storymaking workshops in the United States, Hungary, Scandinavia, Mexico, and England, from Head Start to universities, in recreational settings, prisons and mental hospitals. King has published seven books of nonfiction, three novels, and many articles and essays. All of her theatrical productions, for children and adults, focus on empowerment.
