Snowboarding is like a drug for Bryce; something to help him escape the stressful and intolerable environment of his home, where his parents do not stop fighting like little children. They argue over the stupidest of things, driving him, his older brother, and his younger sister crazy. But when the sport is forbidden to him after a major accident that results in two broken bones, Bryce needs to sneak behind his parents’ backs to attain that fix he so desperately needs.
Dreams Are Not Dreamed is the story of a thirteen-year-old’s struggle through his first few years of teenage life combined with his parents’ dysfunction. It brings to life Bryce’s hopes and dreams of one day becoming just like his hero, Shaun White, and the hard work and dedication required to achieve that goal.
